Question

Answer

Where do I go on the first day?

Please enter the school grounds through the main gate and follow the marked, one way system. Staff will be positioned around the school to direct you to the Reception classes.

Who is Stay & Play for?

Stay and Play is for children who are new to Three Bridges Primary School. If your child attended nursery at 3B they will not attend Stay and Play.

What will Stay & Play be like?

Due to the current situation regarding Covid-19, our Stay & Play will look slightly different than originally planned. Children will be invited into the classroom with about 7 other children and be supervised by teaching assistants. This will provide an opportunity for children to get to know the classroom environment and some of the other children. While your child plays, the parents will be invited to enjoy a cup of tea or coffee and speak with the teachers. Teachers will also provide a quick presentation on important information and give a tour of the school. The parent meeting will take place outside or in the hall, weather permitting.

Can we purchase the school bag during the Stay and Play?

Yes. You can also purchase a PE bag.

For the tour and stay and play, should they wear their school uniform?

No, no need for your child to wear their uniform for Stay and Play.

School uniform is currently relaxed and optional due to Covid-19.

For September, children should come ready to learn, play and exercise in clothes that are easy to wash.

Will I find out the house colour on the day of the tour so I can buy a PE shirt?

You will find this out later on in September. Until then, your child can wear any plain coloured shirt you have for PE.

How are you coping with implementing social distancing?

We currently have a one-way system for drop off and pick up. At this time, parents are not allowed in classrooms.

Social distancing doesn’t apply for children in school, as per government guidance. However the children won’t be mixing with other year groups.

We have implemented increased cleaning measures and have tried to minimize shared resources, where possible. A re-opening plan and risk assessment is available on our school website and re-evaluated every 2 weeks.

Do you have a plan in place if there is a 2nd lockdown, in terms of live online teaching, providing school work, suggesting activities etc?

Our school plan is reevaluated every twice weeks based on advice from the government and local authorities.

During the first lockdown we provided suggested activities weekly and were available via Dojo messenger daily. We also made weekly calls home.
